30 of 5th Mo While we were sitting in religious retirement (which we continued to do twice a week) we were interrupted by our Boatman who had arrived at the landing with our goods which relieved us of some anxiety of mind as the River was geting low and we were doubtful of the Boat geting this far at all, the Boat was 16 Days coming from Pittsburgh to this place which after a stay of about 2 hours returned homewards, the arrival of our Boat afforded us a plentiful stock of provisions Beding and utensils of various kinds to work and instruct the natives with, I now feel myself in a good degree happy and contented 7th of 6th mo. This morning being the time appoint-ed for our friends departure toward their native Land having a wilderness journey before them and but little prospect of reaching home in less than 5 or 6 weeks intending to go a few days journey over Niagara River in upper Canada thence by way of Oneida and New York which would make their route near 1200 miles, our neighbour Indian John came this morning according to appointment to pilot our friends to Cataraugus about 45 miles from this place, our friends being in readiness solemnly took leave of us and set forward
