Hopkins, (whoit appeared had been appointed to visit the In-dians on behalf of the Society of Friends,) wasproduced, read, and interpreted to all the diffe-rent nations present. In reply to which, diversof their chiefs expressed great satisfaction; andamongst others Toethteboxie, on behalf of theDelawares, said, For many years before Icame into the world, the white people havebeen offering to do for us, what is now men-tioned; and it appears, that our eyes were neveropened, until this time. We will now take holdof it, and receive it. I am an old man, andwant to see it before I die. If I once see it,I shall die in peace, to think I have left mywomen and children in comfort.
