the committee adjourns to meet on the 7th daypreceeding our next quarterly meeting at the 7th hourin the evening Baltimore 10 Mo. 15 1805 At a Meeting of the Committee on IndianConcerns present 16 Members and our friends JacobLindley, John Hunt &; John Shoemaker Jr. fromPennsylvania The sub-committee produced the followingreport To the Committee on Indian Concerns In compliance with what appearedto be the sense of the Committee when last con-vened, we endeavoured to procure a suitable Friendto go and reside amongst the Indians the presentseason but no suitable one having offered to engagein the service and taking into consideration theadvanced season of the year and the dissatisfied &;unsetled situation of the Indians at that time onaccount of a sale of Land that had been madeby some of the tribes to the United States (whichuneasiness we are glad to hear has since beenremoved) our thought it might for the presentseason be best to write to William Wells Indianagent and request him to procure for Friends themost suitable person he could who under his direction
