raised a good crop of corn which theyhad previous to their leaving that placesecured in a crib- on their departurefrom the station they were accompanyedby several of the principal Indians ofthe Village as far as Fort Wayne, atwhich place on taking leave of themthese Indians expressed their gratitudeto friends for the kind assistance theyhad furnished them and desired our youngmen to inform us that they earnestly hopedwe would still continue our friendly aidtowards them From the information received it wasthe united judgment of the committee that thesituation of the settlement required the furtherattention of friends The same persons who were employed thepast season were accordingly engaged &; havingset out early in the spring, reached the settlementabout the middle of the 4th month last. Byaccounts received from them it appears thatthe Indians were much pleased at their return&; they found the settlement in as good a situation as could be expected, the corn whichhad been the last fall secured in cribs
