informing them of the Judgment whichwe had come to respecting our proceedings towardthe Indians for the present season A letter from John Johnson dated 2 mo 20thwas received &; read &; refered for further consideration The friend appointed to transmit ourMemorial to the Legislature of Ohio on thesubject of interdicting the ale of spiritousLiquors to Indians within that state informedthat he had forwarded it as directed and thatthe following Law had been passed by the assemblyviz An act to prevent the selling of Spirituousliquors to the Indians-Sec 1 Be it enacted by the General Assemblyof the state of Ohio, that if any tavern keeperor other person or persons shall sell or barterany spirituous or other liquids of intoxicatingquality to any Indian or Indians within thisstate, or convey or attempt to convey or be instrumental in conveying any of the aforsaidliquors or liquids out of this state with an intent to dispose of the same to any Indian or Indians unless authorized by the proper authority- Such person or persons shall forfeitand pay a fine not exceeding one hundreddollars nor less than five dollars to be recovered with costs of suit by Indictment in thecounty where the offence was committed to be
