now siting to be produced at a future meetingof the committee Then adjourned until tomorrow evening at the 7th Hour, when the committee again metpresent 23 Members and our friend John Jamesfrom Philadelphia The friends appointed to prepare a reportto the Yearly Meeting now siting producedthe following which was read and approved to wit To the Yearly Meeting now sitingThe committee on Indian concerns reportThat the young men who had been sent outto assist &; instruct the Indians returned about the firstof the present year and informed that theyhad gone out early in the spring and remainedat our Station on the Wabash, until aboutthe middle of the 11th month last during whichtime they had raised a crop of good corns ofbetween 5 &; 600 Bushels in the Ear which wascarefully secured before they came away- Theyhad also raised a variety of Vegetables whichwere given to the Indians. The corn alsohas since been distributed among such ofthe Indian families as appeared most in needof it- our young men further informed thatthey had aided the Indians in building severalHouses after the crop was in a situation to admitof their attention being withdrawn from it, and
