Our attention was also arrested by the appearance of a bank thrown up at some distance from the road; on riding to it we found it to be a very extensive fortifica-tion. It is situated upon a level plain near Paint Creek, one of the waters of the Scioto river. As this is a work of great labor and curi-osity, I shall be minute in my description and give the following figure.
