Advancement in Civiliza-tion amongst these differ-ent Tribes, in proportion to the Serious Exertions which have, from time to time, been made by white people towards some of them, for we understand, that, even the Oneida’s, who now appear to us in a very Rude and uncultivated State, were still much more so, a few year ago, before their Ac-quaintance with the other more civilized Tribes.
