John Peirce Notes, on a visit to Several Tribes of Indians, 1796

SW_JP1796_204

About four in the afternoon took an affectionate leave of our Friends Jacob Taylor, Hen-ry Simmons, and Enoch Walker; and set out towards Onondago, lodging at an Indian House Eleven Miles on our way. Before we leave this Coun-try it may be proper to note, two singular Advantages, peculiar to these parts above many others; and which the Indians, in Com-mon with the white people, may and do enjoy: viz. The Sugar Maple &; Salt Springs.
