They have requested at their lastCouncil that this sum may be expended in theemployment of suitable persons to instruct themin the arts of civil life. The Wyandots have alsorequested, that their annuity may be paid them inyoung Cattle, this information is pleasing to us, asit in a considerable degree shews the sincerity oftheir professions of willingness to abandon their presentmode of life for one from which every comfort maybe expected with much greater certainty We may Remark also that we at the presenttime have only given assistance to the Miami &; Ealriver Nations and from the limited state of ourfriends, we are fearful we shall not be competentto extend it as far as might be desirable, amongstmany of the other Nations. With a hope that our mutual effortsmay be productive of the desirable end we areaiming at we are your friendsSigned on behalf of the CommitteeBy P. E. Thomas ClerkBalt. 10 Mo. 17. 1804
