attention to the subject is referred to our next Meeting; &;c. the Committee informing that they have handed out some articles to the Indians amounting to Four pounds 12 the Treasurer is directed to pay that sum to Thomas Willis Adjourned to 6'oclock in the evening preceding the Meeting for Sufferings in the second Month next, at the Pearl Street House, New York At a Special Meeting of the Committee on the Indian Concern in New York7th of 1 mo 1809 Present 14 members By a letter dated 26 Ulto. from Henry Drinker, Thomas Morris &; Thomas Stewardson, on behalf of the Meeting for Sufferings in Philadelphia, it appears that the said Meeting has authorized this Committee to draw on Henry Drinker for a further sum of Two Thousand Dollars of the benevolent donation of our friends in England for the promotion of the civilization of the Indian Natives John Murray &; Robert Bowne are appointed to receive &; place it out at interest on good security.
