The executive branch of the Pennsylvania government between 1777 and 1790. Headed by a president and a vice-president, and further comprised of a council member from each county. Benjamin Franklin served as its sixth president. Its powers included office appointment, inter-state relations, pardon-granting, and execution of the law. The executive council was replaced by a governor in 1790. |
