Bio notes The Northern Missionary Society was an offshoot of the Church of Scotland lasting from 1800-1843. The majority of its activities seems to be supporting other missionary societies. It worked in the Scottish Highlands, and supported missions to the Jews, to Highland exiles in the British colonies, and to Irish Catholics. After 1831, the Society also supported the Church of Scotland Indian Mission.
