Bio notes Resided in Bath, NY. Sir William Pulteney selected Charles Williamson as land agent to develop 1,200,000 acres in upstate New York. In 1792, Williamson, a Scotsman came to the unsettled wilderness to develop the land by building roads, selecting sites for towns, dividing land into lots, and building gristmills, taverns, stores and houses.
